Wake and Shake
As part of the global Daily Mile community, during the summer term children at St Mary’s start their day outside in the fresh air, running at their own pace with their classmates and enjoying our grounds. With links to the PE and PSHCE curriculum, the Daily Mile aims to improve the physical, social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing of our children. Just fifteen minutes of this social physical activity helps the children to be fitter, healthier, happier and more able to concentrate in the classroom! Every child, whatever their circumstances, age or ability, succeeds at The Daily Mile.
At other times of the year, different physical activities take place at the start of the school day, such as DanceFit or circuits.
