Lyme Regis Pyramid

Thorncombe is a member of the Lyme Regis Pyramid, which comprises of 2 small cluster schools, Marshwood and  ourselves and 3 larger schools, St Michael’s Lyme Regis, Charmouth and Mrs Ethelstone’s Uplyme. The latter is a Devon School but its location makes it appropriate to be part of the Pyramid.

All the schools feed into The Woodroffe School, Lyme Regis. The Woodroffe school is now a teaching centre. The Pyramid has a strong sporting organisation led by Eddie Clarke SSCO (School sports co-ordinator) and we are also part of the WDSSA (West Dorset School Sports Association).

Head Teachers meet each half term and all staff take part in an annual INSET dedicated to the Pyramid’s work.

Other Local Links

The school enjoys benefits from links with TVT, village hall and shop, Forde Abbey, the Magdalen Project and Sadborow.

 Global Links  –  Nepal

Liz  Rutter, who lives locally and is involved with the church, has developed links with our school & Ghale Gaun school in Nepal. Tanya Robinson is the school’s key link teacher for this project which has been running for some years. A ‘Nepal’ themed day each academic year is planned to teach the pupils about aspects of life in Nepal, raise awareness (and money!) for the pupil we sponsor at the school and to dress up and have fun!
